I WILL NOT TOLERATE YOU LEAVING ME ALONE

The Notgalerie was built in 2015. An abandoned wooden church was occupied in an act of recreation.

Criticism, defiance and resistance stand against the institutionalisation of art. Actions in conceptual systems become material:

SPACE FOR OPPORTUNITY /// SOCIAL PLASTICS /// FOREIGN BODIES /// META-INSTALLATION /// SHELL /// COLLECTIVITY /// BODY OF WORK /// TRANSFORMATION

Over (a period of) six years, a position was taken: as a radical alternative proposition to institutionalized art practice.

In the summer of 2020 this task will be fulfilled.

The Notgalerie is an art institution.

In order to fulfil this task, the Notgalerie will enter into a process of dissolution. /// of its timeworn materials /// (The soul of time is nature)

The freedom of the material is its decay.

The artists should not have to be turned towards the institution to see the fulfilment of their work in achieving it.

The artists themselves are institution and home.

After Immendorf I WILL NOT TOLERATE THAT YOU LEAVE ME ALONE the Notgalerie will be dismantled one last time and the components will be given to the community for safekeeping.

Thus a new institutional body is established, one which follows an entirely different stream of thought.

In the process of dismantling and dissolving the Notgalerie, in an accelerating rhythm of exhibitions and expansions, in convergence and in confrontation, the actors meet one another in their being to form the body of a new institution.
